Being sanctions by the western world, you may think Myanmar is a poor, remote country. Not at all! What it left in the colonial era is now the basis of Yangon’s development.
And if you would like to have traditional Yangon street food but don’t want to sit on the hot and steaming street, come here~ Rangoon Tea House.
After Yangon, we were here in Bagan. Bagan is in the Mandalay Region, about the central of the country. Indeed, Bagan should always be included in any trip in Myanmar. This thousand years old town tells the tales of Burmese religion and history.
Actually, there are lots of places in the world have several names. From Rangoon in colonial era to Yangon after independence, status in international relationship changes along with the change of name. Nowaday, it is no longer Burma but Myanmar (note 1). With the change of government in recent years, the country’s capital is no longer Yangon. Interestingly, the only direct flight from Hong Kong to Myanmar available only goes the Yangon.
This is the first time I came to Spain, but my priority is not Sagrada Familia. My purpose is to see the marches in Semana Santa. Almost all Spanish-speaking countries celebrates Semana Santa. Of course the most attractive for me is Spain.
There are a lot of famous places in Spain celebrates Semana Santa. Among them, Seville has the largest Semana Santa procession. Flight from Hong Kong, I landed in Madrid, then the Renfe train to Seville takes about an hour. I arrived Seville at about 3pm.
